Meet Norman
I am Norman Royal, I am running for the office of Sheriff in Screven County, Georgia. I have lived in this community my entire life, and my roots here run deep. I am happily married to my wife of 22 years Randilyn. We are blessed with three wonderful, beautiful children, Lauren, Braden, and Brandt. Our family embodies the values and spirit of Screven County. They inspire me every day to serve our community with integrity and dedication.
My career in public service began as a firefighter, where I learned the importance of quick decision making, teamwork, and putting the safety of others above my own. I am currently an Investigator with the Sylvania Police Department. Being a police officer has provided me with a deep understanding of the challenges and needs of our community. It has taught me the skills necessary to be a faithful servant, a leader, and fueled my deep passion for law enforcement.
I am dedicated to modernizing and enhancing the personnel and equipment that support and protect our county. My team is committed to staying abreast of cutting edge practices and technologies that guide a 21st century law enforcement agency. Central to my mission is the continuous education and training of deputies so they are equipped to uphold the highest standards of service with integrity. Protecting the lives and property of all citizens is our primary focus with a particular emphasis on the safety of our children. My goal is to station a deputy in every school, ensuring a safe and secure learning environment for all students. Collaboration is essential in any law enforcement agency to fight crime and protect communities. I plan on forging strong partnerships with neighboring agencies, so we can combat threats to our communities like burglary, theft, drug crimes, violence, and trafficking.
My vision for the Screven County Sheriff's Department is to be a trusted partner in the community that equally enforces the law without fear or favor, malice, or ill will, and is a dedicated to fostering a safer more connected community that enhances the lives of every citizen.
I am prepared to uphold the responsibilities and duties of the office of Sheriff, and lead Screven County towards a brighter, safer future.
